Welcome to a tale of renewal and resilience in the heart of a bustling community. Our affordable housing project stands not just as a testament to modernization, but as a beacon of hope and progress.
Across 131 apartment units and a central community building, this project was an impressive phased, occupied rehabilitation journey. These apartments were more than just homes; they were revitalized, modernized spaces that complimented comfort and contemporary living. Renovations not only included modern amenities but also incorporated new safety measures and HVAC systems, mending damages that were left by Hurricane Sandy.
Located just five miles outside Manhattan, this project faced logistical challenges that pushed the boundaries for creative problem-solving. Divided between two sites and separated by a few city blocks and the I-78 overpass, ensuring the safety and convenience of both residents and the community was top-priority.
The landscaping emerged as a sanctuary, breathing life into the surroundings. A concrete patio, anchored with sturdy, weather-resistant picnic tables, quickly became a popular communal space—a testament to community spirit and shared experiences.
Supported by funding from HUD, NJEDA, and NJHMFA, this project stands as a collaborative effort, a testament to what can be achieved when communities come together.
